How much culture is hidden in language? In this interactive quiz, the audience is invited to guess the real meaning behind Danish and Swedish idioms and everyday expressions — translated literally into English, where they often turn into something puzzling or hilarious. By playing along, you’ll uncover how language reflects cultural quirks, similarities, and differences across Øresund. 

But the fun doesn’t stop there. Participants will also have the chance to share idioms from their own native languages, translated into English, and pin them on a world map. Together, we’ll create a unique collection that shows just how often cultural meaning gets lost (or transformed) when everyday sayings travel across languages.
