Speaker's Corner: Local food and sustainable food communities

Learn about local food systems and discover how Grønt Marked connects Copenhagen with small-scale local producers.

Come for a talk about local food systems and learn how you can contribute to healthy food environments in the city. Andrew M. Jefferson, or AJ, board member of Grønt Marked and long-time volunteer, will give an introduction of the work Grønt Marked is doing and where you can find the markets during the market season.

Grønt Marked is a primarily volunteer-run non-profit association based in Copenhagen, established to help create a more sustainable and locally rooted food system, one that makes room for small local farms and food producers. Since 2019, they have held well-attended markets in Copenhagen that contribute to a better food culture, where citizens have knowledge of and access to local produce made by small producers working according to sustainable principles. In short, they bring good producers directly to citizens and create connections between countryside and city, producers and consumers.

Join and learn about how they support Copenhagen on the path towards healthy, sustainable food.

Please note that Speakers’ Corner is an intimate setting without microphones. Seating is limited to 20 people, and the format is designed for close conversation and dialogue between speakers and the audience.
