Signe Smith Jervelund will give a practical and hands-on introduction to the Danish healthcare system, explaining how it is organized and the principles behind it. You will learn about the role of your general practitioner (GP), how to access GPs, hospitals, specialists and dentists, and which services are covered by the Danish public healthcare system.
The talk will also explain how to use your Health Insurance Card, how to register with a GP, and when and how to contact different healthcare services – including your GP, a specialist, emergency care and the medical helpline.
